The electric vehicle that most people have been waiting for. The Tesla Model 3 is arguably the most anticipated electric vehicle by prospective EV owners and the biggest motivator for other manufacturers to invest in EV models and drive trains. This is the brand (and car) that influenced so many individuals and existing car companies to take electric vehicles seriously as the solution for sustainable and fun transport.
With some models capable of 0-100kmh in around 3 seconds and range of 500+km this really is the hero of electric cars!
Tesla Model 3 Charging Information
All Teslas are typically supplied with a High Power Wall Connector (HPWC) for home charging and a portable Universal Mobile Connector (UMC) which allows the car to charge from standard 10A outlets while out and about.
Both chargers are supplied literally in the boot of the Model 3s when delivered so there’s no real opportunity to install ahead of time. However, this may not be a big deal as most drivers will be able to make do with the portable charger, at least in the short term. Furthermore it’s advisable to ditch the HPWC for home and apartment and go for something a little better.
Unlike it’s cars the Tesla HPWC is not particularly smart, has no Wi-Fi connectivity and unlike the Zappi will not integrate with your solar or battery setup. Furthermore, aftermarket chargers like the Zappi and HALO can obviously be installed ahead of delivery so well worth a consideration if you want to be able to charge at a decent charge rate as soon as you take delivery of the car.
