BMW i3 By Allan: Sydney, NSW

BMW i3 Review NSW Australia

Why did you choose this particular model?

Fast AC Charging (32 amps as standard) and the uniqueness of the design. Like nothing else on the road.

Which other models did you consider at the time of purchase?

PHEV Outlander, but Australian model didn't come with fast DC charging.

How long have you owned the vehicle?

Since 2014

What do you enjoy the most about the car?

Performance and uniqueness. Nothing else like it on the road!

What niggles you about it?

The clock is not synched to DAB or RDS time signal.

Aus version no indication of what gear one is in on the dash

Frunk not water proof

Charge pin wasn't retracting

Right front BMW badge fell off

Glove box cover separated

Air bag died

No!

147km and 100km

Where do you mostly charge?

Public and home

And do you make much use of public charging stations?

Yes, ChargePoint Australia

How much longer do you intend to keep it for?

Just been written off. Will probably replace it with another BMW i3.

How have the dealers been with regards to support?

BMW quite good. They appear to be knowledgeable about the product.

Do you unashamedly consider yourself an EVangelist? ;-)

Yes

Anything else to add that might help prospective buyers?

Be wary of this and the Volt that only have 4 seats. This is a deal breaker for many!
